Shodex has unveiled its HILICpak VG-25 series, a polymer-based amino column designed for high-performance HILIC separations with charged aerosol detection (CAD). The VG-25 releases very few components from the column, resulting in low baseline noise and stability comparable to the company’s VG-50 series, making it ideal for precise quantification of saccharides and other analytes.
Tests with a 5 µL injection of 40 µg/mL solutions of fructose, mannose, glucose, and sucrose demonstrated clear separation and stable baseline performance. Using an H₂O/CH₃CN (20/80) eluent at 0.6 mL/min, 40 ℃ column temperature, and CAD detection, the VG-25 outperformed silica-based amino columns from other manufacturers in signal-to-noise ratio and baseline consistency.
The VG-25 series offers laboratories a reliable solution for HILIC applications requiring sensitive, reproducible, and low-noise detection, supporting a wide range of analytical workflows in food, pharmaceuticals, and biotechnology sectors.
